Arrival of MEDIA PATH from
Fritz Coleman and Louise Palanker
New “Media Path” Podcasts Will Take Audiences on Engrossing Journeys Deep into the Worlds of Movies, Music & Books with Guests Including Henry Winkler, Keith Morrison and Josh Mankiewicz
Los Angeles, CA — July 21, 2020 – Legendary TV Weatherman and comic Fritz Coleman and Premiere Radio Networks co-founder Louise Palanker today announced they are teaming up to create, produce and host a series of in-depth podcasts covering the most intriguing topics of our time. Called “Media Path,” the free, hour-long audio podcasts begin streaming today, July 21, 2020, and will be available at www.mediapathpodcast.com and across all podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Google Podcasts and Spotify.
A video version of each podcast episode is also available and you can watch the Media Path trailer here.
This is Coleman’s first venture since retiring from NBC in Los Angeles at the end of June. Media Path guests include Henry Winkler, author/journalist Michael Isikoff, John O’Connor (who revealed Deep Throat), and Dateline NBC’s Keith Morrison and Josh Mankiewicz.
“If you’ve ever been obsessed with a subject and just couldn’t rest until you learned everything possible about it, we intend to make sure our Media Path podcasts satisfy that obsession,” promises Coleman. “Louise and I have wanted to do something like this together for years, and we are as obsessed with making the show great as you are with the topics.”
Each show infuses in-depth conversations with the hosts’ signature humorous spin.
The first episode focuses on Turner Classic Movies. Coleman and Palanker discuss TCM viewer favorites and find a fascinating family thread which links “Cleopatra,” and “Citizen Kane,” with Fritz’s NBC pal (and upcoming Media Path guest) Josh Mankiewicz.
A popular fixture on KNBC Channel 4 in Los Angeles for nearly 40 years, Fritz Coleman was named “Best Weathercaster” in virtually every major newspaper survey before retiring this year. He has written, produced and starred in three one-man plays, performed stand-up comedy and has made many TV talk show appearances including “The Tonight Show.”
In addition to being a co-founder of Premiere Radio Networks (now a division of iHeartMedia), Louise Palanker is an acclaimed writer, producer, director, comedian, filmmaker, and teen advice columnist. Her documentary, “Family Band: the Cowsills Story” appeared on Showtime for two years and is now available on Amazon Prime.
"It's fascinating to dive deeper and deeper into what intrigues us and technology definitely indulges our obsessions,” says Palanker. “This show is the conversational version of 'People who liked that will also love this,' and I am thrilled to be working with my brilliant buddy, Fritz."
Adds Coleman, “We think the world is finally ready for us together on the same ‘stage’.”
The Media Path audience can count on experts like authors, performers and directors to add color and flavor to the journey.
Upcoming episodes will feature Coleman and Palanker discussing and indulging their obsessions with Motown, Watergate, Rock docs, Trump/Russia, The Laurel Canyon Folk/Rock scene and whatever points of interest they find along the Media Path.
